Padel Mixicano
A padel Mixicano is a Mexicano with one extra rule: every team is one man and one woman. Partners still rotate each round and points are still individual — what is fixed is the make-up of each team, not who you play with.
What the roster needs
The format only works if the mix can hold on every court at the same time, so you need the same number of men and women, and at least two of each. Eight players means four and four; twelve means six and six.
In PadelLoop you mark each player as a man or a woman as you add them. It will tell you what is missing and refuse to start rather than draw a round it cannot balance. The smaller of the two groups also caps how many courts can run at once, since every court needs two of each.
How it plays
Round one is drawn at random within the rule. After that the standings reseed the field exactly as in a Mexicano, except the ranking and the draw happen per gender: the strongest man is paired with a woman further down, against the next man and the next woman, so the two sides come out as even as the mixed rule allows.
The result is a mixed night where the games stay close and nobody is stuck with the same partner all evening.
Mixicano and Team Mexicano are not the same thing
Team Mexicano also uses the standings to decide the matches, but its pairs are fixed for the whole tournament and it has no concept of gender. If you want couples to stay together, that is the one to pick. If you want the mixed rule enforced while partners keep rotating, this is it.

A Mixicano lets the standings decide the next round, which makes the matches tighten as the evening goes on. Both keep one man and one woman per team; only the way the draw is made differs.
Can a Mixicano handle an odd number of players?
It handles players sitting out, but the men and women still have to be equal in number. Ten players as five and five works, and two of them sit out each round when you run two courts. Nine players as five men and four women does not, because the extra man could never be given a partner without breaking the rule that defines the format.
